York failed to make home advantage count as Morecambe held them to a draw in the first leg of their play-off semi-final. The home side dominated but failed to capitalise as Steve Bowey and Clayton Donaldson shot wide from 20 yards.
Morecambe keeper Steven Drench produced two inspired saves to keep strikes from Martyn Woolford and Emmanuel Panther.
Wayne Curtis could have snatched a Morecambe goal but shot high from a tight angle.
