Altrincham meekly surrendered their Conference status with a stalemate against Aldershot. The Robins enjoyed most of the possession but struggled to carve out scoring opportunities, Rod Thornley spurning their best chance on the hour.
The hosts were briefly buoyed by the addition of seven injury-time minutes.
But it was the visitors who looked more likely to score in that time with Phil Anderson hammering a shot over the bar as Altrincham went down.
