Scarborough FC need to relocate |
Scarborough's plans for a new ground designed to keep the club in business have been thrown into jeopardy. Scarborough Borough Council has deferred a decision to lift a covenant to allow the McCain Stadium's sale.
Opponents of the proposals want the Conference North strugglers to continue playing on their existing ground.
The club's owners say without selling the ground to pay off 1.6m debts and fund a new home, Boro will go bust with the ground sold to pay creditors.
