Kettering boss Kevin Wilson wants to draw a line under the turbulent reign of Paul Gascoigne at Rockingham Road. Wilson was reinstated as manager and signed a three-year deal after Gascoigne was sacked on Monday following a 39-day spell in charge.
"This last 48 hours has been very difficult, and what has gone on has been disappointing," said Wilson.
"It'll be good to get back to reality, away from all the cameras, and I hope I can carry on from where I left off."
Following Gascoigne's arrival, Wilson was offered the role of director of football, but decided to leave after two years at the helm.
Wilson's first game back in charge was Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Alfreton Town and afterwards he said his first task would be to reinstate his working practices at the club.

"A lot can happen in six weeks - it actually seems more than that - players try to do things differently and it's not been easy for them," he said.
"Last night's game was too early for me to do things how I want to do them, and no disrespect to Paul Gascoigne and (former assistant) Paul Davis.
"I like to be disciplined, I like to be organised and my players to know what to expect, both individually and collectively, and if they don't do it then they know what's going to happen.
"I just want us to get back to playing good football, but also winning football."
Following his exit, Gascoigne initially threatened to buy the club and reinstall himself as manager but later appeared to accept his position.
"It's good that Paul came out and wished us well," he said.
"I've never had any problems with him, and I wish him all the best too, but now I have to draw a line under it."
