Former Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday manager Peter Shreeves has resigned as Barnet boss. Shreeves had been in charge of the mid-table Nationwide Conference side for a year.
Barnet are currently 10th and have been struggling with inconsistency all season, having won only one of their last five games.
Just over a month ago Shreeves was targeting a play-off place, but has now decided to go.
He told the club's official website: "All I will say is that I was unhappy that I wasn't able to give the Barnet public the success they deserved".
Coach Martin Allen will take charge until the end of the season, when the position will be reviewed.
Shreeves' resignation at Underhill did not come as a complete shock to Bees chairman Tony Kleanthous.
"His contract was up this year anyway," Kleanthous told BBC Radio London.
"The board had already looked at the situation for next season and with the introduction of squad budgeting there was a real possibility of us going part-time anyway.
"There is only a month of the season left but I think Peter found life difficult with the budgetary restrictions we have at the club. "
