The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has announced the dates for the next Cup of Nations to be held in Tunisia in 2004.

This follows a successful four-day inspection tour led by Caf president Issa Hayatou.

The 24th Nations Cup will take place between 24 January to 14 February 2004 to take into account Fifa's international calendar.

A Caf spokesman said climatic conditions in Tunisia had also been considered.

Six stadia have been selected to host the Nations Cup matches.

• 7 November Stadium of Rad�s (Tunis)
• Menzah Olympic Stadium (Tunis)
• Olympic Stadium of Sousse
• Tayeb Mhiri Stadium of Sfax
• 15 October Stadium of Bizerte
• Ben Jeannet Stadium of Monasti

This is the third time that Tunisia will be staging Africa's biggest football event. The last time the country hosted the Nations Cup was in 1994.

Meanwhile, Caf announced that its general assembly will held in Tunis on 22 January 2004.
