| Kenya 'can make it to Tunisia' ![]() The 1992 Nations Cup in Senegal was Kenya's last Kenya's buoyant coach Jacob Mulee says his team are capable of qualifying for the 2004 African Nations Cup finals. Speaking after the Harambee Stars success at the four-nations tournament in Tanzania, Mulee said his team will end the continental drought for the region. Kenya were the last side from east Africa to participate in the Nations Cup finals, when they played at the 1992 edition in Senegal. With six points from their opening two matches in the 2004 qualifiers, Mulee is confident his side "can make it to Tunisia." "That win in Cape Verde was vital because they are a really good team," Mulee said. "We have a good side and some tremendous footballers. Our captain Musa Otieno (who plays for South African champions Santos) is one of the best defenders in Africa. "And in John Mururi (from Genk in Belgium), we have a very creative midfielder." "Our preparations [for getting to Tunisia] have been well organised. "As long as the administrators can hold up their side, the players will be able to do the job." Kenya hosts Mauritania in their third qualifying game next March. It is a match that should be easy for the Harambee Stars, given Mauritania's two losses in the group. "But this is the match I'm most worried about," confessed Mulee. "I'm scared we'll be complacent and let vital points slip. "If we win the game we'll have some daylight between ourselves and the rest of the teams in the group and it will be looking really good for us," the coach said. | Top Cup of Nations stories now: Links to more Cup of Nations stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
