A 16th minute goal from Youssef Chippo ensured Morocco's 1-0 victory over Gabon in an African Nations Cup qualifying match in Libreville.

Chippo beat Gabonese goalkeeper Victor Bissassi with a 20 metre shot that exposed the frailty of the Gabonese defence.

Morocco's away victory was deserved, as the unfit Gabonese players were no match for the energetic and cohesive North Africans.

The result is a good start to the coaching career of Badou Zaki, who has the arduous task of restoring pride to Moroccan football after the country's poor showing at the African Nations Cup in Mali.
