| Okoronkwo gets Newcastle trial ![]() Okoronkwo (right) partners Joseph Yobo in Nigeria's defence Nigeria defender Isaac Okoronkwo has begun trials with English Premiership club Newcastle United. Okoronkwo, who partners Everton centre-back Jospeh Yobo at international level, is currently on the books of Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk. If Okoronkwo impresses, he is exprected to cost Newcastle between �2m and �3m. Newcastle manager Bobby Robson is keen to see an improvement in the defensive capabilities of his team - although they are eighth in the Premiership, only the bottom five sides have conceded more goals.
