| Kalla quits Cameroon
Kalla had said that he would not play for Cameroon again immediately after their disappointing first round exit at this year's World Cup. At the time, his decision was thought to have been taken in a fit of pique. But Kalla has since informed Cameroon coach Winfried Schaefer of his intentions. "That's it for me," Kalla, who plays for VfL Bochum, told German magazine FussballStars. "I have informed (Cameroon's German coach) Winfried Schaefer. "Winnie Schaefer knows exactly what happened. We had a team who could have reached the semi-finals or the final. "Maybe we could have even won the World Cup. "For me at the moment the national team is not important. I'm only thinking about VfL Bochum." Kalla has had a permanent spot in the national team since 1994. He played in three World Cup finals for Cameroon and has over 80 caps. | Top Africans abroad stories now: Links to more Africans abroad stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
