| Ijeh seeks big move
Ijeh scored 24 goals for Swedish club Malmo FF this season, winning the league's topscorers award. "It's been a great season and I must thank my team mates for the help that they have given me along the way," Ijeh told BBC Sport Online. The striker is confident that his recent exploits in Sweden are a sign of better things to come in European football. "I won the topscorers award in Nigeria (with Julius Berger), I've done it in Sweden and I am sure that I will win it in other leagues that I play in," said Ijeh at London's Heathrow Airport. Ijeh has one year left on his contract with Malmo but says that he is not worried about his future. "As I am still under contract to my club, I will be in Sweden for the time being. "I've heard that some clubs are interested in me but I will leave all that to my agent. "I don't want to be distracted by business issues," he said. The 25 year-old has been invited to play in Nigeria's friendly match against Jamaica on 20 November. Ijeh is thrilled to get a chance to earn a permanent shirt in the Super Eagles. "I'm happy to be given the call-up and would have the chance to play in front of fans back home." Competing with other in-form European-based strikers like John Utaka, Julius Aghahowa and Yakubu Aiyegbeni, the Malmo player said he is up to the challenge. "Each player has his strength but I know my worth and hope to prove myself as being worthy of the Nigerian team. "I believe that my time has come." | See also: 14 Nov 02 | Africans abroad 14 Nov 02 | Africa 05 Nov 02 | Africans abroad Top Africans abroad stories now: Links to more Africans abroad stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
