Frenchman Bertrand Marchand was sacked as Tunisia coach on Wednesday.
This follows a disastrous start to their bid to qualify for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 57-year-old had signed a two-year contract in June 2010 with the task of guiding the Carthage Eagles to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
However, two defeats to Botswana and a draw at home to Malawi leaves them struggling to qualify for the finals.
Marchand had resigned from his post as coach of Qatari outfit Al-Khor to take up the Tunisia job.
He had previous experience of coaching in Tunisia having been in charge of Club Africain and then Etoile du Sahel.
