Kalou hasn't scored 20 league goals in a season since Feyenoord in 2005
Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou has set himself a target of 20 goals this season after scoring again in the 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.
Kalou's sixth of the season helped maintain the Blues' position at the top of the Premier League.
Chelsea overcame a battling Wolves side at Stamford Bridge thanks to a first-half strike from Florent Malouda and Kalou's effort 10 minutes from time.
And the Ivorian is determined to beat his 14-goal personal best in England.
"I push myself to score 20 goals and that's my target," the 25-year-old said.
"I've got six already so I have 14 to go. It is a challenge for myself and I have to keep myself fit if I want to do it.
"I look to get 10 before the end of December and another 10 after Christmas, but I'm already ahead of the plan."
Wolves, noted for their battling style, played some fine passing football and kept possession for long spells against the Blues.
In the past Chelsea have struggled to overcome the more physical approach from their opponents but Kalou insists all that has changed.
"We have a lot of speed up front," added Kalou. "We are strong and can run longer and faster. So for the defender it is really hard to keep up for 90 minutes with this kind of attacking set-up.
"If they want to get physical with us we can respond and when they want to play good football we can also adapt to that.
"With our midfielders supporting us it is quite difficult for the defence to stop us."
Since joining Chelsea in 2006, Kalou has never scored more than seven league goals in a season.
He has only ever bagged 20 league goals once, in 2004-2005 for Feyenoord, the Dutch club he left for Chelsea.
