Gilberto scored the only goal for Angola in Luanda
Angola revived their hopes in Group J of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when they beat Guinea Bissau 1-0 in Luanda on Saturday.
Gilberto got the only goal when he converted a 22nd minute penalty after Manucho was fouled in the box.
The win was a huge confidence boost to new coach Zeca Amaral who took charge last week after Herve Renard's exit.
The win took Angola to third on the table but are equal on three points with Guinea Bissau.
Kenya's hopes of qualifying for the 2012 tournament suffered a severe blow when they were held to a 0-0 draw by Uganda in Nairobi on Saturday.
The Harambee Stars were beaten 1-0 by minnows Guinea Bissau in their group game last month and they were hoping to revive their fortune with a win at home.
But the Cranes were resolute and held out for a goalless draw to stay on top of the table to four points.
Kenya are fourth with one point.
They will host Angola in Nairobi in their next game in March next year while Uganda will travel to face Guinea Bissau.
