Defending champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo got their Group A campaign off to a great start with a 2-0 win over Dynamos in Harare.

Zambia striker Given Singuluma scored both goals, the first a header from close range in the 16th minute.

He then smashed in a right-footed volley inside the box from Tresor Mputu Mabi's cross on 33 minutes.

Mazembe dominated the game, with the Zimbabweans failing to get any meaningful shots at goal.

"We're happy to win away against a good team like Dynamos, and now we've got two home games, so we'll aim to win those too," said TP Mazembe coach Diego Garzitto.

"But we made a few mistakes and we're going to work hard on those."

Dynamos coach Elvis Chiweshe told BBC Sport that all is not lost for the 2008 semi-finalists.

"It was one of those games, we were a changed team in the second half, and I think we're still in the campaign," he said.
