John Mensah is to hold talks about extending his stay at Sunderland
Ghana defender John Mensah will hold talks next week about extending his stay with English side Sunderland.
Negotiations with his representatives were delayed by the flight chaos caused by the volcanic eruption in Iceland.
Mensah is currently on loan from French club Lyon, but his season has been hampered by a succession of injuries.
"It was supposed to be this week, but with the volcano, it's been put back a week," according to Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.
Sunderland are unlikely to seek a permanent move for the 27-year-old, who has three years remaining on his current contract, but they would be more than interested in another loan deal.
