Ivory Coast have qualified for the 2011 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals after defeating Togo 4-0 in Abidjan on Sunday.

The home-based Elephants qualify for the tournament to be held in Sudan 6-1 on aggregate.

The Ivorians beat Togo 2-1 in the first leg of the final qualifier two weeks ago.

Even though fans were allowed into the Abidjan stadium free of charge, only a handful of supporters turned up for the game.

Hosts Sudan, defending champions DR Congo, Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Niger and Cameroon have booked places at the 16-nation championship scheduled for next January and February.

Libya or Algeria will join the qualifiers next weekend with the other seven slots to be filled a week before the World Cup kicks off on 11 June in South Africa.

The biennial Nations Championship is restricted to footballers playing in their country of birth.
