Mali's Seydou Keita picked up an injury in the Club World Cup final
The Mali Football Federation (FMF) says it is monitoring a thigh injury to Barcelona's Seydou Keita that is set to rule him out of action for three weeks.
The FMF says it has not taken a decision yet on whether to replace him in their preliminary squad for January's Africa Cup of Nations.
Keita limped off during Barcelona's 2-1 victory over Argentina's Estudiantes at the Club World Cup final on Saturday.
Mali begin their Nations Cup campaign against hosts Angola on 10 January.
The Eagles then play Algeria and Malawi in their remaining Group A fixtures.
Before getting to Angola Mali play in a four-team tournament in Qatar starting on 27 December along with the hosts, Iran and World Cup bound North Korea.
Their final warm-up game before the Nations Cup is against African Champions Egypt on 4 January in Dubai.
