A defender who plays for the new African club champions TP Mazembe of DR Congo has broken his leg after a car accident.
Leopold Banyak hit a wall while driving in the early hours of Thursday morning in Lubumbashi.
The president of TP Mazembe is making plans for the player to be flown to South Africa for treatment.
Banyak, who hails from Cameroon, is certain to miss the Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates next month, according to the club doctor.
He was an integral part of Mazembe side as they won the African Champions League for the first time in 40 years.
Meanwhile the rest of TP Mazembe team will travel to Zimbabwe on Friday to prepare for the Club World Cup.
