'As long as we don't get...'

Sepp Blatter
Who do you want to avoid in 2010?

Apart from the small matter of a play-off between Egypt and Algeria, African qualifying for 2010 is done and dusted.

Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana and Ivory Coast are in the draw for the World Cup in South Africa on 4 December.

All 16 finalists for the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola have been decided.

We asked who you wanted your team to be drawn against for the Nations Cup and the World Cup, and some of your responses are below.

This debate is now closed, thanks for all your contributions.

Great to see New Zealand qualify and my beloved Nigeria. I hope they will be grouped together. Mozambique thanks for doing a good job of making sure you beat Tunisia. We promise to pay you back by making Africa proud. Up 9ja. Chuks Obodo, New Zealand

Goodness, my team is Cameroon and the teams I don't want to face in the World Cup are: Russia, Argentina and Italy. If we can avoid them then we can go far. Italians look weak but are very dangerous. Russians are charging rhinos. Carolyn, Uganda

I pray Nigeria meets Saudi Arabia, Slovenia and Honduras so that we can progress. For the Nations Cup I wish we are grouped with Angola, Togo and Tunisia. Rotimi Wusu, Lagos, Nigeria

I would like Cameroon to face Brazil and the Netherlands as I know what the Indomitable lions are capable of doing especially now with the new coach. Any team to meet Cameroon should watch out for a disgrace. Nchu Joseph, Kinshasa, DRC

Please Nigerians at least once recognise that Mozambique have done you a very big favour by beating the group front runner, Tunisia, and not to mention that when Nigeria came down to Maputo, they miraculously escaped defeat. For the World Cup 2010, prepare yourselves better because there will not be any favour by any team for you to progress in the competition. Carlos, Maputo, Mozambique

This is the best possible line up Africa could have put forward for such a historic event. I'm hoping Ghana and Nigeria will meet a team like England or Germany or France in the quarter-finals. I think Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands are the ones to avoid. Hopefully the Europeans will knock themselves out leaving a clear and easy path for Africa. Adjoa, London

I want Super Eagles of Nigeria to avoid Spain and the Netherlands in the World Cup. They can face any team at the Nations Cup to prepare them for the World Cup proper. Their qualification was a bit of struggling though, but they didn't record any defeat. On a good day, the Eagles are a team to beat. I pray the authorities doesn't start their distractions with hiring of a foreign coach who would not do better, they should just commence early preparation to fine-tune the team. In CAN I fear no foe. Michael Nlerum, Doha, Qatar

I would wish my country's Africa Cup of Nations is not ruined by being paired with Ivory Coast again. This team has a rich vein of talent and I do not doubt their capability to win the World Cup in SA. Ignatius Lumbe, Malawi

As a Nigerian, I want Nigeria to meet Brazil, Spain, Argentina and the Netherlands in South Africa because that's the only way the Super Eagles can raise their game and improve. Tope Idowu, USA

To be the best you need to beat the best team. What I hope for my Elephants though is that two European powerhouse get knocked out of the play-offs, therefore we would almost certainly be ranked in the second pot for the draw, avoiding a repeat of 2006 draw when we had Argentina and the Netherlands in our group. Nicl, Canada

Trust me, Ghana will cut any one to size. The jungle is ours we live there, our sons and daughters will live there and we will take the World Cup there. Come on Stars! Appiah, Essien, Muntari, Annan, Laryea. Are you frightened? OK - listen to this whisper.... Adiyiah! Nikoi Zent , Takoradi

I support all of the African teams and I would like for them to avoid Brazil in the group stages. The African teams to next year's World Cup in South Africa (SA) are the best from the continent and they can take on any team in the World. However, I will like for SA to be grouped with an Asian team, a Central American team and New Zealand. I will like for SA to go through to the 2nd round (round of 16). Vee-Musa, Minneapolis, USA

Who do we fear? Nobody. Who do we want to play? Anyone. Remember Drog, Kalou, Kolo, Yaya, Dindane, Eboue, Boka, Zokora, Kone etc. Watch out for the Ivory Coast! Sylvain, London

As a Cameroonian, we fear no team, we rule the jungle, anybody in our way will be crushed this time, because we are really hungry for both the world cup and the African cup. The Lions are hungry. Ngah Ernest, Cape Town

I want Tunisia to be in our group so as to really clear the air on who is superior. However, I don't think we should be grouped with Cameroon now - I have the strong feeling we will meet in the final. Richard Ogunbawo, Lagos, Nigeria

Ghana is my team, and I hope we can avoid Spain, Brazil, Italy, and the Netherlands from our group. Philip, Toronto

It would be good if Algeria and Egypt could meet in the finals of the African Nations Cup! Ahmed, UK

Bring them on, this is the Black Stars, we fear nobody, only ourselves. I wish England comes to our party. Let get ready to rumble, Black Stars. Come on Essien, Appiah, Muntari, Asamoah Gyan. Ebenezer Prah, Cape Town
