Real Madrid midfielder Mahamadou Diarra has been named in a 23-man Mali squad for their 2010 World Cup qualifier at home to Sudan on 11 October.
The 28-year-old returns after recovering from a knee injury.
He made his first appearance in nearly a year last week, as a substitute in Real's 2-0 over Villarreal.
Neither side can qualify for the World Cup in South Africa but a win for Mali will get them a place at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.
