Marcio Maximo and the Taifa Stars will not be in Zimbabwe
Tanzania have withdrawn from the Cosafa Senior Challenge tournament to be held in Zimbabwe from 17 October to 1 November.
The country was invited to replace Madagascar in the southern Africa football tournament and initially accepted the invitation before changing their minds.
"We can't send the team to Zimbabwe because the players are currently busy in the league," Florian Kaijage, spokesman for the Tanzania FA, said.
"There is also the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup tournament coming up in Kenya on November 28."
The FA's secretary-general Frederick Mwakalebela had earlier announced that they would send the Taifa Stars as a guest side to the tournament sponsored by the Zimbabwean government.
Tanzania played in the Cosafa tournament earlier this decade, but withdrew in favour of concentrating on East Africa's Cecafa Cup.
Kenya will host this year's Cecafa tournament for the first time in 17 years.
The 11-team tournament is still searching for a sponsor following the collapse of GTV.
Another former sponsor of the tournament was an Ethiopian millionaire Sheikh Mohammed Al Amu.
