Sissoko comeback on hold

Mali and Juventus midfielder Momo Sissoko
Sissoko will miss the start of the Italian football season

Mali and Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko will be out of action for at least another month.

Sissoko has not played since fracturing his left foot against Torino in the first week of March.

It was hoped the Mali international would be fit for the start of the Serie A season.

However, coach Ciro Ferrara will not be able to count on him until mid-September at the earliest.

A recent scan revealed that part of the injured foot has become inflamed.

The Juventus medical staff have recommended that Sissoko rest the foot for a further four weeks to aid recovery.

Sissoko joined Juventus from Liverpool in January 2008 and quickly became a regular in the Bianconeri team.
