Roger Lemerre was sacked as coach of Morocco in May
Morocco's Hassan Moumen has been appointed interim coach of the Atlas Lions in place of sacked Frenchman Roger Lemerre, the Moroccan Football Federation has confirmed.
Moumen, who is also currently manager of newly promoted first division side Fath Rabat, will be assisted by three coaches.
The new coach has signed a three-month contract and will oversee Morocco's remaining three Group A qualifying matches for the 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations.
Morocco are struggling to qualify for both as they lie third in their group with just two points from their three games so far.
The Atlas Lions next qualifier is away to Togo in September, followed by a trip to top-of-the-table Gabon a month later before a final match at home to Cameroon in November.
