Striker Mido has not been included in the latest Egypt squad
Wigan striker Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam was not included in Egypt's 28-man squad for their 2010 World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup next month.
"He was excluded due to a tactical point of view," Shawki Gharib, Egypt's assistant coach said.
Mido was left out of the squad named on Thursday despite a dearth of attacking options.
Egypt will also be without forward Emad Moteab who has a knee injury.
Mido, who has scored two goals for Wigan since his loan move from Premier League rivals Middlesbrough in January, will miss World Cup qualifiers against Algeria on 7 June and Rwanda on 5 July.
