Maximo has received offers that could take him away from Tanzania
Tanzania coach Marcio Maximo is unsure as to whether he will sign a new deal to manage the Taifa Stars when his contract expires in July.
The Brazilian has revived the game in the country, leading them to their first continental tournament in 29 years.
Tanzania were narrowly edged out of a semi-final place at the Africa Nations Championship in Ivory Coast after Zambia forced a 1-1 draw with a late goal.
Despite being offered a new deal to manage the Taifa Stars, Maximo says he will consider several factors before making a decision.
"It's very difficult to talk about the future especially in football, because you never know what's coming for you," Maximo told BBC Sport.
"I received several concrete offers but I have promised the President of Tanzania Mr Jakaya Kikwete that I will at least see my contract out.
"I am very calm in taking the decision about my future because my family is involved - so I have to take my family into consideration.
"I have been away from my family for over two-and-a-half years now and it is not easy."
Tanzania were unlucky not to reach the CHAN semi-finals
Maximo has improved the fortunes of the Taifa Stars since taking over the side in June 2006.
Tanzania had not qualified for a major tournament since the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Brazilian has been popular with Tanzania fans, and he also has a love for the Tanzania team.
"I will think about my professional career first then think extensively about Tanzania before I make any decision. Tanzania is my priority," he said
Maximo coached Livingston when they were playing in the Scottish top-flight in 2003/2004 season.
He was a member of Brazil's youth coaching staff in 1992 and 1993.
