With the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola just a year away, we look at the progress of the stadiums that will host the tournament. Pictured is the Lubango stadium in the southern province of Huila.
The Lubango stadium will house 20,000 spectators, is running ahead of schedule and is likely to be the first stadium completed out of the four host venues.
The Benguela stadium is part of a new urban area in the coastal city of Benguela. It will have a capacity of 35,000 with VIP areas and disabled access. It is expected to be ready in October.
Cabinda is an Angolan enclave inside DR Congo, better known for its oil and rebel independence group. But the building of this stadium marks a change in the area. It will seat 20,000 and have a training area for local teams.
Situated just outside the capital at Camama, the Luanda stadium will hold 50,000 and include hospitality areas. It is scheduled to be finished in October and will host the final. (Pics: COCAN 2010; words: Louise Redvers)
