Ivory Coast duo Yaya Toure and Kanga Akale have withdrawn from Wednesday's friendly against Israel.

Toure, who plays for Spanish side Barcelona, pulled out after suffering a blow to the head on Sunday which required stitches.

The incident occurred during Barcelona's 2-0 win at Recreativo Huelva in a Primera Liga game.

Another Spain-based midfielder Akale, who plays for Recreativo Huelva, misses out due to gastroenteritis.

Ivory Coast are using the Israel game to prepare for the joint qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.

They are drawn in a group that includes Burkina Faso, Guinea and Malawi.

The qualifying series resumes in March.
