Cooreman leaves Nigeria after more than a decade in the country
Nigerian club Enyimba have told coach Maurice Cooreman he is free to leave and take charge of Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko.
The highly-rated Cooreman, who took Enyimba to the semi-final of this year's Champions League, has reached a two-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.
Reports in the local media had suggested he was heading for a legal battle with officials from the two-time African champions.
However, Enyimba chairman Felix Agwu made it clear he will not block Cooreman's departure.
"Officially his contract has expired with us," Agwu told BBC Sport.
"We had hoped he would stay on, but once the offer came in from Asante Kotoko, we knew it was time to let him go.
"There is no problem or whatsoever, the fans and the management wanted him to stay but he has other plans. We wish him all the best.
Agwu confirmed that former Nigeria national coach Austin Eguavoen will take charge of the team.

Cooreman, who has been involved in Nigerian football for more than a decade, had previous stints at Nigerdock, Bendel Insurance, Lobi Stars, Gabros International and NPA.
But he came to attention when he led unknown club Ocean Boys of Bayelsa to the Nigerian league title in 2006.
The 65-year-old Belgian reached an agreement with Kotoko on Tuesday to replace Bashiru Hayford as head coach.
He has been tasked with qualification to the group stage of next year's Champions League.
"We know of his abilities and as such we have tasked him to bring laurels to the team," Kotoko chairman Sylvester Asare-Owusu said.
"His first task is to build a formidable squad for the league.
"This coach has the pedigree and a big team like Kotoko, needs a coach of his calibre."
