Enyimba are now top of Group B of the Champions League
Former champions Enyimba of Nigeria moved to the top of Group B of the Champions League after defeating DR Congo side TP Mazembe 2-0 on Sunday.
Two second-half goals secured victory for the home side in Aba, helping them to go the summit with six points.
Stephen Worgu confirmed his status as the competition's deadliest striker this season by grabbing his 12th goal of the tournament.
But it was his strike partner Ezenwa Otorogu who opened the scoring in the 70th minute from close range - but looked suspiciously offside.
Worgu sealed the victory with ten minutes remaining after taking advantage of a defensive slip-up to score from an acute angle.
Enyimba's win means Sudanese side Al Hilal drop to second in the group as they could only draw 1-1 with CotonSport of Cameroon in Omdurman on Friday .
Nigerian Kelechi Osunwa scored after 25 minutes to give Al Hilal a deserved half-time lead.
But CotonSport fought back and Baba Ousmaila levelled with 14 minutes left.
The result was a major blow for Al Hilal, whose Brazilian coach Ricardo Ferreira had boasted midweek that his team were poised to reach this year's final, having made it to the semi-finals last year.
The Cameroonians came under sustained pressure before a capacity 35,000 crowd at the Hilal Stadium and fell behind when they failed to clear and the ball fell kindly for Osunwa to stab it past goalkeeper Daouda Kassali.
Mohamed al-Tahir wasted a great second-half chance to put Hilal further ahead before a swift Cotonsport raid ended with Ousmaila beating goalkeeper Moez Mahjoub at his near post.
