Uganda gave themselves a great chance of making the second round of World Cup qualifying with a thrilling win over Angola on Saturday.
The result puts the Cranes level on points with the 2010 Nations Cup hosts and Benin in Group 3.
Angola retain the lead in the group on goal difference.
Uganda took early command of the game with two goals in the first 20 minutes, from Eugene Sepuya and Andrew Mwesigwa.
They secured victory with their third strike, from Dan Wagaluka, with 10 minutes to go.
Angola, who went to the World Cup in Germany in 2006, got a consolation goal through Pedro Mantorras in the final minute of the game.
The other game in this group saw Benin, in second place, travel to Niger.
Benin secured a two-nil victory in Niamey thanks to goals from Seidath Tchomogo and Razak Omotoyossi.
They also have six points from three games.
