Cameroon have extended their lead at the top of Group 1 after beating Mauritius 3-0 in Curepipe in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers on Sunday.
Andre Bikey who plays for Reading in the English Premier League opened the scoring for the Indomitable Lions after just 12 minutes.
Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o extended Cameroon's lead fifteen minutes later to send his side in 2-0 ahead at halftime.
Cameroon continued to put pressure on Mauritius's defence in the second-half.
Substitute Gustave Bebey Mbangue sealed 2008 Nations Cup runners-up dominance with the final goal three minutes from the end.
But there are injury worries for coach Otto Pfister after Eto'o left the pitch limping midway through the second half.
The Indomitable Lions are now three points clear at the top of the group.
Cameroon coach Otto Pfister was a happy man even though he complained about the quality of pitch.
"We played well although the playing surface was very poor," he told BBC Sport.
"We now have a big chance to qualify for the 2010 African Cup and World Cup and the team spirit is very good."
Meanwhile Mauritius Coach Ashok Chundunsingh said that Cameroon is the sort of opponent his side need in order to progress.
"This is a young team and it's only our fifth match together. We started quite timidly but in second half we played much better," he told BBC Sport.
We now have a big chance to qualify for the 2010 African Cup and World Cup and the team spirit is very good.
Cameroon coach, Otto Pfister
"We showed clearly that Mauritius can one day go to the World Cup but we have a small pool of players and in two years time, we'll have a very good team."
In the group's other game, Cape Verde defeated Tanzania 1-0 on Saturday.
Substitute Babanco's 73rd minute strike was enough to seal the victory for the home side in Praia.
The win took Cape Verde to second on table while the Taifa Stars remain at the bottom of the group with one point.
Tanzania face an arduous task in their next qualifier as they host Nations Cup runners-up Cameroon while Cape Verde travel to play Mauritius on the weekend of 14-15 June.
