On Sunday Angola left it until the last 30 minutes of the match to complete their 3-0 win over visitors Benin in Luanda.
Flavio, who plays for Egyptian club Al Ahly, opened the scoring on the hour mark for the Palancas Negras.
Job scored the second 18 minutes later with Mendonca completing the win with just six minutes left on the clock.
As hosts of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations Angola qualify automatically for the tournament but still need to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa in the same year.
Meanwhile on Saturday in the other Group 3 game Uganda beat Niger 1-0 in Kampala.
The only goal of the match came 11 minutes after half-time from defender Ibrahim Sekagya, who plays for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
Uganda's next game is a trip to play Benin while Niger play host to Angola, both games are next weekend.
