Joel Santana has named his first South Africa squad
South Africa's new Brazilian coach Joel Santana has named his first Bafana Bafana squad since taking over from his compatriot Carlos Alberto Parreira.
Santana only arrived in South Africa on Sunday and his first game in charge will be a 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria in Abuja on 1 June.
Santana's assistants Pitso Mosimane and Jairo Leal, who is also Brazilian, helped chose the 25-man squad.
They worked with Parreira until he had to leave the role.
One surprise omission is defender Nasief Morris, who plays for Greek side Panathinkaikos.
There are returns for midfielders Macbeth Sibiya and Delron Buckley, who both missed the Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana earlier this year.
