Isaac Paha has been sacked as the coach of the Black Queens |
The Ghana Football Association has fired Isaac Paha as the coach of the Black Queens, the female national team.
The former Ghana international was sacked along with his assistants Dan Owusu and Dora Zuta because of poor performance.
Abdul Gamel Mumuni and Isaac Fukuo will take over the team after impressing with the Black Princesses, the national under-19 side.
Black Queens management committee chairman Fred Crenstil says the changes will help to improve the fortunes of the Black Queens.
"We have seen recent unimpressive outings from the Black Queens, " Crentsil told BBC Sport.
"This has even been noted by the media if action is not taken we could have disastrous consequences."
The team conceded 15 goals and scored just three at last year's Women's World Cup in China.
The Black Queens were held to a 1-1 draw by the Ivory Coast in the African Women's Championship qualifier in the first leg in Abidjan last week.
Mumuni will be in charge of the team for the second leg scheduled for Sunday.
