The medical officer pushed by Andre Bikey in Cameroon's 1-0 win over Ghana in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations, has yet to receive an apology.

"He hasn't apologised and I will be happy when he does, because no player should do that," Samuel Ashia said.

Ashia, who will be working in the Accra Sports Stadium for Sunday's final, is also unhappy with Bikey's ban.

"I would be happy if he was punished further so all the players know that we are important on the field," he said.

Ashia, 23, has yet to hear from either the Cameroon federation or the Confederation of African Football (Caf).

This is despite Ashia saying his head and waist were bruised after he was pushed to the floor by 23-year-old Bikey, who misses the final because of a two-match suspension.

"At the time, I didn't feel any pain but on Friday, I started feeling pains in my head and my waist - he hurt me," he explained.

"I got angry at this point so people were surprised I didn't retaliate, but that was because of the work I was doing.

"Bikey's bigger and taller than me - he could beat me up (if he wanted to) - but I'm there to do my job, not to fight.

"Nobody has had contact with me but they should take care of my health too. I have to be given a medical check-up to see if I have been affected."

Ashia believes that Bikey, ever-present in Cameroon's campaign until his dismissal, pushed him so that his team could waste time in the dying moments.

"The referee called us to pick up Rigobert Song, even though I didn't think anything had happened to the player when he fell down," Ashia ventured.

"Maybe Bikey thought I'm a Ghanaian supporter and that I wanted to get the player off the field so that I would prevent them from wasting time.

"So he came back and pushed me but I don't know why - I was surprised.

"I've never experienced anything like that before in my six years of doing the job."
