It has been a frustrating tournament so far for Ghana

Ghana great Abdul Razak is unhappy with the way the Black Stars are playing at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Razak, now coach of Real Tamale United, helped Ghana win the tournament on home soil in 1978, the same year he was crowned African Footballer of the Year.

Ghana, who play Morocco on Monday, have six points from their first two games but are not guaranteed to qualify.

Razak told BBC Sport: "Tactically and technically it has been all wrong. It is going to be tough against Morocco."

Ghana have several big-name players in their squad including Chelsea's Michael Essien, Portsmouth's Sulley Muntari and Udinese's Asamoah Gyan.

Razak added: "The players haven't lived up to expectations. There are so many things that are going wrong."

The Black Stars opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over Guinea and then narrowly defeated unfancied Namibia 1-0.

Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan decided to walk out on the Black Stars following criticism after their unconvincing win over Namibia, but were persuaded to stay by team-mates.

Asamoah, 22, was booed during Thursday's match after missing several scoring chances for the host nation.

"So far Ghana have played two matches and there has been no improvement," added Razak.

"The pace of our build up is slow even compared to Namibia.

"They were the underdogs but when they had the ball they really wanted to play.

"The Ghanaians don't want to run - they want to keep the ball like the Brazilians but they end up losing it.

"Everyone expected Ghana to be in the final before the competition - but now we don't know what the future holds."

Razak also feels that the midfield are not helping the strikers enough in front of goal.

"When your strikers are not performing the way you want the midfielders need to help out - like Sulley Muntari's goal in the opening game.

"The midfield are floating too many balls into the opponent's area and making it difficult for the strikers to operate.

"There are no final passes for the strikers to have clear shots on goal, there is no creativity."
