Parriera's side left it late to salvage a draw |
South Africa's Brazilian coach Carlos Alberto Parreira believes the Bafana Bafana deserved to have won their Group D game against Angola. "I knew that we were capable of getting a good result, but the draw doesn't really reflect the shape of the game," said Parreira after the 1-1 draw.
"We had a greater share of play than Angola but we weren't able to score.
"If we want to qualify we now have to win one of the two matches that remain," added Parreira.
South Africa had to chase the game after Manucho put Angola ahead with a superb first-half header.
And Parreira's side only drew level with three minutes remaining when Elrio van Heerden scored with a spectacular shot.
South Africa next play Tunisia on Sunday before facing Senegal in their final group game on Thursday 31 January.
