Vogts has decided on most of his Nations Cup squad |
With the Nations Cup finals just two months away, Nigeria coach Berti Vogts is still looking for the right midfield combination. After the Super Eagles' 1-0 loss to Australia in a friendly, he told BBC Sport that the midfield department is the team's weakest area.
"We have so many talented strikers, and we need some workers for the strikers in the midfield," he said.
"On Tuesday [in a friendly against Switzerland] I'll try two other boys."
Vogts has already finalised most of his 23-man squad for the Nations Cup, but says that there are still a few places left.
"The squad for the Nations Cup is taking shape, we have very good players.
"I have around about twenty players clear, for the other three players maybe I have to change my mind now."
Some Super Eagles fans feel that the departure of Sunday Oliseh after the 2002 Nations Cup finals left Nigeria's midfield greatly weakened.
