Maiga put the Squirrels ahead just before half-time |
Benin qualified for the final of the four-nation friendly tournament in Ghana after beating the United Arab Emirates 1-0 on Saturday. France-based striker Abou Maiga scored in the 44th minute to secure victory for the Squirrels.
The west Africans had the better of the first half and their pressure was rewarded when the Creteil striker took advantage of a defensive slip-up.
Benin, who were parading all their key players, continued their dominance in the second-half.
The Nations Cup finalists could have won by a wider margin but for the numerous scoring chances wasted after the break by Sweden-based Razak Omotoyossi.
The Squirrels will meet the winner of Sunday's game between Ghana and Togo in the final on Wednesday.
Benin are using the tournament to prepare for the Nations Cup in January where they have been drawn to play Nigeria, Mali and Ivory Coast.
