Kanu, Utaka to miss Nigeria clash
Nwankwo Kanu
Kanu suffered the injury during Sunday's draw with Man City
Nigeria strikers Nwankwo Kanu and John Utaka have been ruled out of their country's friendly against Australia in London.

The Portsmouth pair were due to join up with the Super Eagles for Saturday's match.

But boss Harry Redknapp insists the duo will remain with the club for treatment after suffering injuries on Sunday.

"Kanu has got a hamstring and Utaka has got a groin strain, so they won't go away this week," Redknapp said.

"They will stay here for the next two weeks and have treatment.

"They are supposed to be playing for Nigeria but there is no chance of them leaving here now.

"They are here and hopefully will have a chance of being fit for our next game."

The two players suffered the injuries while playing in Portsmouth's goalless draw with Manchester City.
