RESULT: Etoile 0-0 Al Ahly 1st Leg

1953: Etoile are only the third Tunisian side to lift the trophy after Esperance (1994) and Club Africain (1991).

1943: Three Etoile players lift the trophy, including Saber Ben Fredj. For the second year running, the away team is lifting the trophy inside an empty stadium. Etoile, who have won the Caf Cup, the Super Cup, the Cup Winners Cup and the Confederation Cup, now add the Champions League to their illustrious trophy cabinet. Fireworks fill the Cairo sky as Tunisian fans celebrate and wave scarves with delight inside the stadium.

1939: Ogunbiyi leads Etoile to ciollect their medals as he goes up to collect his third Champions League winners medal, having twice won the copmetition with Nigeria's Enyimba.

1937:Ahly players are collecting their losers medals.

1922 FULL TIME Al Ahly 1-3 Etoile: Etoile du Sahel are African champions for the first time. They win the competition 3-1 on aggregate after becoming the first team to score against Ahly in Cairo in the Champions League this season. One of the best African Champions League finals in recent years, and Etoile took full advantage of the red card issued to Ahly defender Al Nahass midway through the second half. Etoile will represent Africa in the Club World Cup in Japan next month. Ahly players look shell-shocked at the surprise result.

1921: Al Ahly's Emad Moteab is booked as the Egyptians lose discipline.

1918 GOAL Ahly 1-3 Etoile: It just gets better and better for the Tunisians as Mohamed Ali Nafkha fires home from the edge of the box, beating Al Hadary to his right-hand side as the ball crashes inches inside the post with a thumping low drive. Ahly are crushed.

1918: Etoile are seconds away from lifting Africa's greatest club prize for the first time, no less than the Tunisians deserve after losing two finals in the last four years. The Tunisians are also moments away from claiming the right to represent Africa at December's World Club Cup. Tunisians are already celebrating inside the Cairo International Stadium, knowing they have done enough to secure a famous win.

1917 GOAL! Ahly 1-2 Etoile: Chermiti scores on the counter, chipping the ball over Al Hadary. Surely now Etoile have wrapped up this title!

1915: The fourth official signals a surprising five minutes of injury time.

1915: Al Hadary denies Ben Hasser with a fine save after the substitute was teed up by the impressive Chermiti on the edge of the box.

1914: Chermiti strikes straight at Al Hadary after being released down the inside-right corridor. As Ahly instantly break up the other end, they are flagged for offside even though the official got this decision wrong. There have been some tough calls against the Egyptians.

1914: Etoile's Ja comes off as defender Mahmoud Khemiri comes on in coach Bertrand Marchand's last substitution.

1912: There are just four minutes left on the clock and Ahly will be hoping there's a repeat of last year's final when they won the competition with a goal in the last minute.

1910: Benasser comes on for the Tunisians, as Ogunbiyi is replaced for Etoile.

1907: Chermiti breaks free for Etoile but fails to find Ogunbiyi in the box with his cross from near the byeline. Ogunbiyi was unmarked at the back post but Al Hadry cut out the danger.

1904: Ahly fans raise the roof at the Cairo International Stadium as they try to ensure the defending champions find the goal they need to win the game.

1902:Etoile escape again as Ahly twice claim a penalty. There were suspicions of handball as the ball was crossed in but the second claim is stronger as Etoile's Ogunbiyi clearly pushes an Ahly forward as the ball drops just inside the box but once again, the Moroccan referee remains unmoved by Ahly's claims.

1900: Etoile break clear dangerously but Shady Mohamed is equal to the danger, running yards back to defend on his own penalty box as the Tunisians look dangerous on the country.

1859: Ahmed Quanoui comes on for Ahly as Portuguese coach Manuel Jose makes his final change. Gilberto is the player replaced, no surprise given the Angolan's recent injury problems.

1858: Chermiti heads straight at Ahly keeper from near the penalty spot. Either side and Al Hadary may have been in trouble as the Etoile forward made a good connection with his header.

1857: Yellow card for substitute Ettraoui after grabbing an Ahly opponents shirt just minutes after coming on. The game is wide open as both teams know that the next goal will win the game.

1854: Moteab breaks free on the right but his cross is too long. As the ball comes back in, Hossam Achour strikes a volley first-time straight at the Etoile keeper

1851: Garby, Etoile's scorer, is replaced by Mejdi Attraoui. Ten-man Ahly make changes as well, Boujelbene being replaced by Abdel Sadik, a more attacking midfielder than the Tunisian.

1847:Ja strikes his volley a yard wide as Etoile maintain the pressure.

1847: Etoile's Garby, who scored the opening goal, curls the resulting free-kick beautifully against the underside of the bar. Bounces down in the 6-yard box but no Etoile player there to take advantage. Had that gone inches lower, Ahly would have been needing two more goals to retain their crown.

1847 RED CARD: El Nahass gets a straight red after bringing down Etoile striker Amine Chermiti when he was clean through on goal just yards from the Ahly penalty box. A rollercoaster ride for El Nahass.

1843: Ahly claim a penalty after Aboutreika goes down in the box under an Etoile challenge. Yet the Etoile defender did not touch the ball and Etoile are lucky to concede a corner rather than a penalty as the Moroccan referee fails to spot the infringement.

1842: Tempers begin to boil over. Fehdi is booked for Etoile after scuffling with Flavio minutes after the Angola went close with a bicycle kick from close range, following on from an Aboutreika shot. Ahly are turning the screw.

1840: Etoile keeper Mathlouthi is booked for time-wasting.

1838: Ahly have regained their confidence now and they are pilling up the pressure on the visitors.

1837:Aboutreika neatly turns in the box near the penalty spot but just curls his low shot inches wide of the keeper's left -hand post.

1834 GOAL! Ahly 1-1 Etoile Al Ahly have levelled things here to set the stadium alight. Gilberto free-kick. Emad Al Nahhas heads powerfully home from six yards out. Etoile keeper should have done better with the header for the goal, it was straight at him but the power beat him even though he got a hand to it.

1830: The second half starts in Cairo and Al Ahly have to show intent to rescue this tie.

1818 HALF TIME It is half time and the Egyptians have been stunned before their home fans. They now need two goals in the second half to rescue this tie.

1814 GOAL! Ahly 0-1 Etoile Midfielder Afouene Gharbi opens the scoring for the visitors against the run of play. What a goal to concede and what a time to concede the goal with the half time fast approaching! Gharbi picked the ball from the edge of the area before unleashing shot which Al Hadary failed to save.

1810: Mohammed Aboutirka scores but he has been flagged for offside.

1809: Etoile's Cape Verdian defender Silva has been brought down in his own area.

1806: Another free kick to Etoile in a position of promise but their captain shots the ball wide.

1804: Etoile are getting confident now as they are beginning to string their passes together.

1759: A rare chance for Etoile to shock the home fans here with a free-kick inside the Ahly area.
