Sfaxien take a two goal advantage into the second leg |
Tunisian side CS Sfaxien will take a two goal advantage into the second leg of the final of the Confederation Cup later this month.
Two goals in the first four minutes led the visitors to a 4-2 win over Sudan's Al Merreikh in the first leg encounter in Omdurman on Saturday.
DR Congo international Lelo Mbele and Blaise Kouassi of the Ivory Coast scored the opening two goals under four minutes.
Kouassi struck his ninth goal of this year's competition in after 18 minutes to make it 3-0.
Al Merreikh rallied in the second half with goals from Brazilian Paulino and captain Faisal Agab but sandwiched inbetween was a fourth goal for Sfaxien by Mbele.
The victory is a huge boost for the Tunisian ahead of the second leg in Sfax on 24 November.
