Doudou Sene believes El Hadji Diouf will be back

El Hadji Diouf will join up with the rest of Senegal's sqaud this week - according to the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF).

That is despite the Bolton striker's shock announcement that he was quitting international football in protest at the running of the game in the country.

Diouf was furious about preparations for Sunday's friendly match against Guinea - which will be played in Paris.

The Syli National were only confirmed as Senegal's opponents a week before the match.

Diouf is also angry about delays in paying bonuses to players, and in reimbursing travel costs.

But the Secretary-General of the FSF, Doudou Sene, says he believes Diouf will make the trip - and that the problems surrounding the team can be resolved.

"The squad will be meeting in Paris on Thursday, when we can discuss all the problems surrounding the national team," Sene told BBC Sport.

"Then we can prepare well for the match and for the Nations Cup with them, and I think they'll all be there - even Diouf, because he is a player who loves the national team.

"Perhaps there are some small problems but we are going to be able to fix them because he was talking about this weekend's match - and a match is now taking place."

He went on to explain that the delay in confirming an opponent was because the coach, Henri Kasperczak, wanted to play an African country and it was difficult to secure an agreement.

Kasperczak has told Senegalese media the FSF can certainly arrange their friendlies better in future.

There are just two dates left in Fifa's calendar before the Nations Cup gets underway in Ghana.

At present, Senegal have no concrete fixtures set for the two available dates, between 17-21 November.
