Both Hilal and Etoile still harbour hopes of getting to the final. |
Sudan's Al Hilal came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Etoile du Sahel on Friday, in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in Omdurman. Goals from the Nigerian pair of Ndubuisi Eze and Kelechi Osunwa earned Hilal the win, after Etoile's Radhouene Felhi had given the visitors the lead.
It was Eze's seventh goal of the competition.
Hilal have developed a powerful reputation at home in this, their first Champions League campaign.
They beat the reigning champions, Ahly of Egypt, 3-0 earlier in the tournament.
But Etoile will be confident they can overcome the one goal deficit when the return match takes place in Sousse next month.
Indeed their away goal in the first leg means that even a 1-0 win for the Tunisians will be enough to see them through.
