Boubacar Kebe claims he was abused by Bastia fans on Friday |
The French Football Federation (FFF) is expected to open an investigation into an alleged racist chants directed at Burkina Faso striker Boubacar Kebe.
Kebe, who plays for second division side Libourne, was sent off for a lewd gesture during Saturday 4-2 defeat at the hands of Bastia.
But the striker says he was a victim of racist chanting from fans of the visiting team on Friday.
"I was a victim of racist chanting," the 20-year-old said.
"I cracked. Maybe it was stupid on my part but it is only human to react that."
Kebe said it was the second successive year he had suffered abuse from the Bastia supporters.
His expulsion, with only five minutes remaining, was a blow to his club as the game was tied at 2-2 when he was sent off.
Libourne succumbed with two late goals from Bastia, leaving the home side second from bottom in the Ligue 2 standings.
