1958: FULL TIME! Tanzania 0-1 Mozambique The Taifa Stars throw away their chance of qualification losing in the first game played in their new national stadium.

1955: FULL TIME! Sengal 5-1 Burkina Faso The Teranga Lions were just too strong and now qualify in emphatic fashion as leaders of Group Seven, on 11 points.

1952:GOAL! Henri Camara passes to El Hadji Diouf who shoots high into the net.

1848: GOAL! Henri Camara receives the ball from Pascal Mendy who was on the wing and rifles in from inisde the area for his second.

1845: Fans start to leave the brand new stadium in Dar es Salaam, this is obviously not the result they envisaged opening their arena with. Mozambique still lead by a single goal.

1839: Still no goals from Tanzania, the home crowd are starting to boo.

1838: GOAL! Henri Camara scores to make it 3-1 to the Teranga Lions.

1834: GOAL! Ousmane Ndoye a long defensive clearance is picked up by Ndoye and blasted in from the edge of the area by the Academica Coimbra striker.

1829: Tanzania have woken from their slumber. Some good attacking football is getting the crowd on their feet.

1821: As the second half kicks off in Senegal, Henri Camara replaces Mamadou Niang and Papa Bouba Dioup replaces Ousmane Ndoye, as the Teranga Lions look to freshen up.

1820: Mozambique fans are enjoying themselves as the Mambas attack again.

1817: Tanzania's Haruna Moshi is also booked. The Taifa Stars' frustration is palpable!

1815: Henry Joseph yellow carded for Tanzania.

1812: Tanzania make changes as they search for an equaliser, Shaaban Nditi is replaced by Daniel Mrwanda, as the second half kicks off in Dar es Salaam.

1753: HALF TIME! Senegal 1-1 Burkina Faso An even first half leaves both teams level at the break.

1745: HALF TIME! Tanzania 0-1 Mozambique The fans in Tanzania have been silenced by good attacking football from Mozambique who lead 1-0.

1740: GOAL! Sibiri Alain equalises from a free kick for Burkina Faso.

1735: Nizar Khalifan shoots inches wide as the Taifa Stars attack.

1728: GOAL! Guirane N'Daw latches onto Diomansy Kamara's header, which rebounds from the post, to tap in from close range. A deserved lead from Senegal who have dominated the game so far.

1720: Tico Tico scores his second only for the goal to be disallowed.

1718: Abdi Kasim's shot is saved by Mozambique's goalkeeper. A really good chance for the Taifa Stars goes begging.

1715: Mozambique have silenced all of the 60 thousand Tanzania fans and continue to attack.

1708: GOAL! Tico Tico Mozambique go into an early lead from a close range header. Only 90 seconds on the clock!

1705: Senegal start their game against Burkina Faso in Group Seven.

1705: Tanzania kick off in front of a capacity crowd against Mozambique.

1657: FULL TIME! Gabon 0-0 Ivory Coast The Elephants progress to the Ghana finals without conceding a goal in their qualifying matches.

1656: A shot from Gabon smacks against the bar with Boubacar Barry beaten in the Ivory Coast goal

1656: Before kicking off their Group Seven match against Tanzania there has been a minute's silence for Fernando Matola who died on 6 September. All of Mozambique's players are wearing black armbands as a makr of respect.

1654: After 90 minutes there still is has been no goals between Gabon and Ivory Coast, three minutes of injury time to play.

1650: Gabon win a free kick in a dangerous area but waste the opportunity.

1644: FULL TIME! DR Congo 1-1 Libya Group 10, the tightest of all the qualifying tables, will see Namibia go through as leaders! DR Congo, Libya and Ethiopia are all out after today's results.

1643: Ivory Coast's Bari Kone is given a yellow card for a bad tackle, the match is becoming increasingly dirty.

1640: The new 60-thousand-seater stadium in Dar es Saalem is nearly full as Tanzania prepare to take on Mozampbique.

1632: Ivory Coast make some substitutions, Chelsea's Salumon Kalou comes on for Kader Keita and Romaric Ndri also comes on to the field.

1628: FULL TIME! Ethiopia 2-3 Namibia Namibia bolster their position in Group 10 with this win.

1625: GOAL! Muna Katupose scores a last-gasp winner that must take all three points for Namibia, the Brave Warriors now lead 3-2.

1621: GOAL! Ethiopia 2-2 Namibia Rudolph Bester puts Namibia on level terms as he takes advantage of a defensive slip up.

1620: It's real end-to-end stuff in Gabon as both teams search for an opening goal, neither though, have created a real chance so far.

1608: Gabon and Ivory Coast resume their match in Libreville.

1605: FULL TIME! Nigeria 2-0 Lesotho The Super Eagles maintain their good form in Group 3 taking all three points at home. Nigeria, of course, have already qualified for next year's finals.

1555: GOAL! Sal Sadin Said immediately puts Ethiopia back on top by skipping past his marker and unleashing a powerful shot inside the area.

1552: GOAL! Rudolf Bester slots home for Namibia from a one-on-one with the goalkeeper after latching on to a defence splitting pass.

1551: HALF TIME! Gabon 0-0 Ivory Coast Gabon have had the better of the match so far.

1546: Both Ethiopia and Namibia have had good chances but both goalkeepers are on great form keeping the strikers at bay. Ethiopia remain in the lead.

1545: Gabon are turning the screw now. Elephant's goalkeeper Boubacar Barry makes a reaction save to keep his side from conceding.

1541: It's all happening in Warri, Nwankwo Kanu has seemingly just slapped a Lesotho player but escapes without a card! The torrential rain is making the pitch completely unplayable.

1539: GOAL! Libya draw level on 1-1 with the DR Congo in Kinshaha.

1533: Kader Keita breaks clear on the right flank but the Ivorian's shot is wild and goes wide.

1527: Gabon are pressing but Ivory Coast's stand-in captain, Kolo Toure, is marshalling the defence well.

1520: FULL TIME! Kenya 2-1 Angola The Harambe Stars upset the odds beating Africa's World Cup finalists of 2006 Angola in Addis Ababa.

1518: GOAL! Birhanu Bogale scores just before half-time for Ethiopia after capitalising on a mistake from Namibia's goalkeeper.

1516: GOAL! Ike Uche puts the Super Eagles 2-0 up against Lesotho after Mikel Jon Obi missed a penalty on 60 minutes.

1516: After a slow start Gabon are now exerting pressure with Daniel Cousin coming closest to scoring.

1515: GOAL! Shabani Nonda gives DR Congo the lead over Libya after scoring from the penalty spot. Mbala Mbuta was pulled down in the area.

1511: FULL TIME! Ghana 3-1 South Africa The Black Meteors win in Johannesburg in an Olympic qualifier to keep alive their hopes of playing at next year's Beijing Olympics.

1508: A goal by Levis Swartbwoi is disallowed for Namibia after an infringement is spotted in the build up.

1505: GOAL! Stephen Makinwa makes no mistake this time, slotting home to give the Super Eagles the lead against Lesotho.

1502: Ivory Coast get the game started in Gabon and go straight on the attack with three attacks in two minutes.

1456: FULL TIME! Uganda 3-1 Niger The Cranes take all three points and maintain their chances of qualification after a great performance from hat-trick hero David Obua. Niger could not match the pace in the second-half and have only Seydou Idrissa's goal as a consolation.

1452: Namibia are starting to settle into the game despite playing away from home against Ethiopia in Addis Ababa.

1447: GOAL! David Obua caps off a fantastic performance scoring his third of the match against Niger. Uganda have surely wrapped this up leading 3-1 with only minutes remaining.

1444: The pressure is mounting on Uganda as they strive to maintain their slender lead. Niger bring on Laeude Idrissa and Kamilou Dacuda for Djibn Hamidu and Anicdt Pascal respectively, to try and regain the initiative.

1437: GOAL! David Obua scores his second for the Cranes to take the lead. Substitute Vincent Kayizzi set up the goal to give Uganda a Nations Cup lifeline.

1432: HALF TIME! Update from the Olympic qualifiers in Johannesburg, Ghana lead South Africa by 2-0 with both goals for the Black Meteors coming from Prince Tagoe.

1430: Namibia get the game underway in their match against Ethiopia.

14:30: Libya kick off their qualifier against DR Congo in Kinshasha, DR Congo having the best of the early chances.

1430: Uganda are going all out for the win bringing on striker Hamis Kitagenda for Geoffrey Sserunkuma with 25 minutes left to go. Remember, the Cranes need all three points to have any hope of qualifying in second place.

1426: Lesotho are soaking up the pressure of a dominant performance so far from Nigeria.

1415: Another change for the Cranes who bring in Vincent Kayiizi for Daniel Wagaluka in the Ugandan attack.

1408: A substitution for Uganda, who bring on Assan Bajope for Noah Kasule in the midfield.

1405: Nigeria dominating the early exchanges in their match against Lesotho, with Italy-based Stephen Makinwa hitting the crossbar.

1406: The game in Kampala resumes with both teams level at the start of the second half.

1346:Half time in Kampala with Uganda drawing 1-1 against Niger.

1345: GOAL! Seydou Idrissa levels for Niger just before the break despite Uganda dominating for much of the half.

1341: Paraisc Karim shown a yellow card for Niger for a foul on David Obua.

1340: Niger switch to defensive tactics to try and see-out the Ugandan attack.

1336: Uganda still camped in Niger's half but no more goals, as yet, resulting from the pressure.

1320: Uganda have the upper hand in the contest, playing the better football in the first 25 minutes of the match.

1310: Niger's Abdul Karim Oumarou was the man who fouled in the area to give away the penalty.

1307:GOAL! David Obua converts a second-minute penalty for the Cranes to put them 1-0 up against Niger.

1300: Uganda get their Group Three qualifer against Niger in Kampala underway.

1255:Group Ten leaders DR Congo will secure a ninth consecutive Nations Cup appearance by defeating second-placed Libya in Kinshasa on Saturday. Any other result and Namibia can come into the reckoning by winning in Ethiopia.

1100: A three-way fight for top spot in Group Seven with Senegal and Tanzania level on eight points and Mozambique two behind. Senegal are favoured as they have head-to-head advantages over both rivals and meet off-form Burkina Faso at home while Tanzania tackle Mozambique in Dar es Salaam.

1100: Runaway Group Six leaders Angola face Kenya in Nairobi having sealed a place at the finals while second-placed Eritrea need a handsome win in Swaziland to have any hope of snatching one the best runners-up slots.

1100:Nigeria host Lesotho in Warri in Group Three having qualified, leaving much improved Uganda needing maximum points against Niger in Kampala to have a chance of being among the best three runners-up and ending a 30-year absence from the Nations Cup.

1100: In Group One, only a six-goal victory for Gabon over 2006 runners-up Ivory Coast in Libreville Saturday can dislodge the visitors from first place. Star Ivorian striker Didier Drogba misses the game through injury.

1100:The struggle for places at the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana reaches a climax this weekend for most of the contenders with final-round fixtures in all but two of the qualifying groups.
