Nonda has not played for DR Congo for nearly two years |
DR Congo are hoping striker Shabani Nonda will return after an absence of almost two years to their national team on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old is expected to play for the Simbas in the friendly against Angola in Kinshasa.
Nonda, who moved back to Roma in Italy after spending last season on loan at English club Blackburn Rovers, was named in a 25-man squad for the hastily-arranged match.
However, Nonda has a history of ignoring call-ups.
Striker Lomana LuaLua, who recently moved to Greece from Portsmouth, and Gabriel Zakuani of Stoke City, have also been called up.
Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboue has withdrawn from the Ivory Coast squad for Wednesday's friendly against Egypt in Paris.
He is to be replaced by Paris St Germain striker Amara Diane for the match-up of last year's African Nations Cup finalists.
Elsewhere, two English-based Egypt players, Hossam Ghali and Ahmed Fathi, will miss Wednesday's friendly after they failed to obtain visas in time.
A similar problem could also rule out defender Ibrahim Said, who plays for Ankaragucu in Turkey.
