Sunderland's Dickson Etuhu has said that he wants to play international football for his native Nigeria. The 25-year-old midfielder was born in the northern Nigerian city of Kano but grew up in London.
Etuhu is hoping his performances in the English Premier League could earn him a call up to the Super Eagles squad.
"I think I'm good enough to play for Nigeria, there are players who have not played in the Premiership and have played for the Super Eagles," he said.
"I want to say to the people who choose the Nigeria team that if they want to come for me I am ready to serve my country, I'll be very happy if I am invited.
"I think I have played at the highest level for a long time with big clubs and no one has come for me."
Etuhu began his career at Manchester City but started just 11 league games before signing for Preston in 2002.
He played nearly 150 games for North End before joining Norwich in 2006 after a loan spell with the club and he played 42 league games for them last season.
