Paulo Figueiredo scored as Angola qualified for the Nations Cup finals |
Angola qualified for the 2008 African Cup of Nations finals in Ghana as winners of Group Six with a 3-0 win over visiting Swaziland on Sunday. Captain Paulo Figueiredo scored the opener for the Palancas Negras after 18 minutes and 12 minutes later Love grabbed the second.
Ahly striker Flavio wrapped up the win for Angola with a third goal from the penalty spot.
After five matches Angola now have an unassailable 13 points at the top of the group.
Eritrea kept their hopes of a best runners-up spot alive with a 1-0 win over Kenya on Saturday.
The only goal of the game was scored in the 80th minute by Berhane Aregay.
The Eritreans now have eight points from their five games, but will almost certainly need a win in Swaziland in their final match in September to have a chance of getting one of the best three runners-up places.
